Approximately 75 % of conferences, expos and other organizational events, both big and small, little known and well-known, do not link their sponsors and exhibitors’ logos back to the sponsors and exhibitors’ company websites! Can anyone believe this? The organizations, who spend between $500 – $500,000 or more to sponsor and exhibit at one’s industry event, do not get a link back. But 25 % do, and ITEXPO is one of that percent. Just another reason to sponsor, present, exhibit and participate in ITEXPO conferences and Exhibitions. Next one is Feb. 13-16, 2018 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Other conferences and exhibitions that link back when you sponsor, exhibit, present and such include TelcoDays,= and OpenSIPS Summit. Give credit where credit is due. 😉 While you are here, don’t forget DIDX is ready to help your communications company… VoIP, IoT, mobile, telecom and such to gain customers, retain customers, roll out international expansion of services, save money and move way ahead of competitors. See how on our DIDX platform today.
VoIP is one of the reasons that Vonage, Skype, Whatsapp, 8×8 and even DIDX were and are solid gold. VoIP, also known as voice over Internet or IP telephony, is just one of the types of communications we have available to use over Internet. But it’s not JUST! As Jeff Pulver said in the 2017 ITEXPO keynote, “When you have natural language interfaces, running with AI, what is it run over? It is riding voice over IP. That’s right, the technology which is inherently taken for granted which some of us didn’t take for granted for years… that magical sauce is what is going to drive a trillion-dollar of business in the not-too-distant future…”
A December 2017 press release notes that Ooma, a company “that’s probably still best known for its VoIP platform, today announced that it has acquired Butterfleye, an AI-powered video camera and security platform that produces a smart security camera for home and business use.” Like “VoIP” is something to be embarrassed about! “Still best known,” like they need to expand before it’s too late? It’s not something to be ashamed of. As long as people speak, sing, and listen to each other, voice over something is a hot commodity like salt cheese, rice, coffee and tea. We take it and them for granted!
So what does Ooma plan to do with Butterfleye’s camera? It will become a part of its Ooma Home security solution. It will also be sold by itself under its original brand name. Features of the camera include face and person recognition and thermal, sound and motion sensors and 24/7 live streaming to practically any device. It sells for $199.99. My cosplay leather jacket brand store is on eBay, so I shop there also and find WiFi cameras as inexpensive as $20 there. Butterfleye team says their security camera is more intelligent and robust than others. (BTW, people want to run away when see GoFundMe or IndieGogo campaigns in their social media feeds, but Butterfleye got their start with over $4 million dollars that way.)
In a recorded video conversation among TMCnet’s Rich Tehrani, Digium’s David Duffet, MongoTel’s Moshe BT and me, our overall goal was to come up with a list of ideas for current companies “still” best known for VoIP…to grow, expand and such. In summary, we decided upon security, SMS, managed services, webRTC, AI, direct inward dialing, chatbots, IOT, CRM, billing, data mining…integrating any of them with VoIP to meet the needs of any sector such as entertainment, agriculture, transportation, medicine, retail, tourism, education, etc.
For example, in 2017 Sugar CRM launched HINT, a software that automatically searches the Internet for business and personal data. TenFold is creating a VOIP/CRM/ marketing connector with features like smart agent Artificial Intelligence and Zoom.us meeting mashups. Those two and Ooma are just three of thousands of “VoIP” companies on every continent that keep their core revenue builder VoIP while launching other products and services that are relevant to their market.
